The Campaign Strategy and Organising (CSO) Training is AktivAsia’s flagship foundational training. It is a 5-day training designed to strengthen community organising and campaign strategy skills and tools for activists in Taiwan. It offers a hands-on learning experience of new organising models and campaign tools, and the opportunity to connect and share lessons with other campaigners from across Asia. You will learn to analyse power, design strategies and tactics, and strengthen your organising strategy in a fun and empowering way!

WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR?

Preference will be given to individuals who:

  • Demonstrate leadership within the climate movement in Taiwan and have at least two years of campaign and/ or organising experience.
  • Are actively engaged in real world campaigns for social and environmental justice and are part of larger movements or campaigns and committed to following the program's objectives comprehensively.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

  1. Share skills, practices and experience about what’s working in climate and energy campaigns
  2. Expand our toolkit for campaign planning, strategy development and building people power
  3. Create and build on strategic, winning campaigns
  4. Introduce basic communication tools to support campaigns and advocacy
  5. Create a learning community that will practice learning in the workshop with a continuous action-reflection approach
  6. Deepen connections and grow networks and alliances between climate and energy campaigners to drive the energy transition

APPROACH (PEDAGOGY)

  1. Learning is designed based on the needs of participants and delivered taking into account their experience and knowledge. Each session will ensure that there is a process in which participants reflect on their knowledge, build collective understanding and put that understanding into practice.
  2. In Adult Learning, participants are the center of the learning process so the design will be as participatory as possible and strengthen their organisation

WHAT OUR ALUMNI SAY...

It was a great experience to have such passionate facilitators, and bright and open-minded participants in one room for a week. Definitely, a great way to reflect on what we were doing, how was it good and how can we better it.

Really powerful and dense campaign strategic program. For anyone who is concerned about the method for an effective campaign and promoting the campaign only based on 'experience', I strongly recommend this program.
